Meet Cathy and David.David and Cathy were like most Queenslanders: they wanted to plan for their retirement, but with two kids negotiating big (and expensive) life events including overseas study and weddings, there always seemed to be another priority!
“Cathy works as an oral health therapist, and I work with a local engineering consulting company, so we had a good base to work with” explains David, “but we had never sat down with someone to discuss a firm plan for our money.” In addition, David and Cathy had a couple of negative experiences with financial planners who worked for the big banks. “Right from the first meeting, we were impressed by the quality of advice from Michael and Lighthouse” says David. “Lighthouse worked really hard to understand our immediate situation and needs” explains David. “At the time that was two kids at university overseas, with weddings in the near future that we wanted to be able to help out with” he goes on to say.
